    OEM Workflow

    Your brand,
    built on our floor.

Six stages, fully traceable, with named deliverables at each gate. OEM at AB Leather is not a hand-off — it is a vertically integrated programme, from raw hide through sealed golden sample to shipment under your brand.

    The Workflow

    Six stages,
    each with a named gate.

Every OEM programme moves through the same six stages. Each stage closes with a concrete deliverable — a memo, a pattern pack, a sample, a sealed golden, an inspection report, a documentation bundle — so there is never ambiguity about what is approved and what comes next.

    STAGE 01
    Brief
    Day 0 – 2

    Shared spec. No surprises.

You send the technical brief — target standard (EN388, ANSI, NFPA), hand size range, target cost band, branding direction, and any existing reference SKUs. We return a one-page feasibility memo inside 48 hours: raw materials available, pattern closest to spec, indicative unit cost band, lead time estimate.

    Deliverables
    • Feasibility memo (1 page)
    • Indicative cost band
    • Pattern reference shortlist
    STAGE 02
    Pattern
    Day 2 – 14

    From brief to working blueprint.

Our pattern team translates your brief into a working die and stitching layout. Existing catalogue patterns save 5–7 days; fully custom patterns add 2–3 weeks for tooling. You approve the flat pattern pack (palm, back, fourchette, cuff) before we cut the first sample.

    Deliverables
    • Flat pattern pack (PDF)
    • Stitch-line diagram
    • Bill of materials (BOM) v1
    STAGE 03
    Sample
    Day 14 – 25

    Physical pairs in your hand.

We produce a 3-piece sample set in your specified materials and branding. A redacted in-house test report (EN388 panel minimum) ships alongside the samples. Sample cost is credited against your first production PO. Most buyers iterate once; some approve at round one.

    Deliverables
    • 3× physical sample pairs
    • Internal test report
    • Material cards (tannage, lining, thread)
    STAGE 04
    Approval
    Day 25 – 30

Sign-off on the exact pair we'll ship.

You approve a single "golden sample" that becomes the production reference. Any deltas — stitch colour, cuff length, branding placement — are documented and locked. We hold a sealed golden sample and send a matched copy back to you. All future production is inspected against that reference.

    Deliverables
    • Sealed golden sample (ours)
    • Matched golden sample (yours)
    • Approved tech pack v2
    STAGE 05
    Production
    Day 30 – 65

    Tanned, cut, stitched, inspected.

Hides pulled from the approved tannage lot, cut on CNC dies, stitched on dedicated lines, and finished with your branding. 100% visual inspection plus ISO 2859-1 AQL 2.5 statistical sampling. A third-party inspector (SGS / Intertek / Bureau Veritas) may be scheduled at your cost if required.

    Deliverables
    • Pre-production inspection report
    • In-line QA log
    • Final AQL inspection report
    STAGE 06
    Shipment
    Day 65 – 75

    Documented, traceable, on your Incoterm.

Packed and shipped per Incoterm (EXW / FOB Karachi / CIF / DDP). Full export documentation package: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, Form A (GSP where applicable), test reports, and a signed declaration of conformity under your brand. Production-batch traceability via the PO reference.

    Deliverables
    • Commercial invoice + packing list
    • Certificate of origin / Form A
    • Declaration of conformity (your brand)
    • Test reports + batch trace
    Buyer Questions

    Common OEM
    questions.

    Still unanswered? Write to oem@ableather.com.

Can we start without committing to production volumes?

Yes. The Brief and Pattern stages carry no production commitment. Many buyers go through feasibility + pattern + one sample round before deciding whether to place a PO.

Who owns the pattern and tooling?

If the pattern is created to your unique brief and you pay the tooling development fee, it is buyer-owned and will not be used for other customers. Patterns derived from our catalogue remain shared unless you commission an exclusive variant.

Do you sign NDAs and MSAs?

Yes. We regularly execute mutual NDAs before the brief stage and can review your MSA template at approval. Our standard supply agreement covers quality, lead times, liability, and confidentiality.

    Can third-party inspectors audit production?

Yes. Pre-shipment and in-line inspections by SGS, Intertek, or Bureau Veritas are routinely accommodated. You book and pay the inspector; we provide factory access and records.

What documentation ships with an OEM production order?

Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, Form A (for GSP-eligible markets), test reports (EN388 / ANSI / EN407 as applicable), a signed declaration of conformity under your brand, and the production-batch traceability log.
